This is my first post on my blog which is on my new website, Pulpit Pages. I would appreciate your prayers as I continue to learn how all of this technical "stuff" works. I am not too familiar with web design, blog postings, and all that goes along with it, but I felt led to create a site that would maybe be a help to fellow preachers and pastors.
Today was a great day at Fellowship. The singing was great, as usual, our attendance was good, and the preaching was, well I would say, average. On the surface today seemed like a typical Sunday at the House of God. However, there was one thing that made today special for me. We began our New Beginnings Sunday School class. It is made up of those who have recently placed their faith and trust in the Lord and were saved by His marvelous grace. We had a few who had been saved for years who wanted to attend, but for the most part it was made up of babes in Christ.
As I consider the events of the morning service, I am reminded of the power of our Lord. It was over 2,000 years ago that He offered Himself as the ransom for our sin and He is still saving souls today. We need to be encouraged and challenged to continue to preach the Gospel to a lost and dying world. It is not a burden to serve the Lord, but a glorious privilege. We don't have to go to church; we get to go to church!!
Well, I had better quit before I get to carried away. It is time to start making preparations for the evening service. I will try to stop by again and post a few thoughts, if anyone is interested.
